Police guarantee blaming defaulters after banning holiday parties

The general commander of the police, Commissioner-General Paulo de Almeida, urged citizens not to hold parties or balls for the end of the year to avoid gatherings, due to the covid-19, ensuring that "defaulters will be held responsible".

"It has already been reported that this year, because of the pandemic, certain acts are prohibited, especially festive activities that can somehow provoke or create contagious situations, so our appeal is that everyone must obey what was determined by the Government and the police. will have to act on all non-compliances that are registered ", said Paulo de Almeida, in Luanda.

Speaking to journalists at the end of the ceremony to celebrate the first year of the Integrated Public Security Center (CISP), the senior police officer asked citizens to respect the provisions of the presidential decree on the Situation of Public Disaster.

The presidential decree on the Situation of Public Calamity, whose eighth extension is in force in Angola, prohibits gatherings in public or private spaces of more than 15 people, aiming to contain the spread of the covid-19.

In a statement made public on Tuesday, the governor of Luanda informed the citizens of the capital, which registers the community circulation of covid-19, that New Year's parties or dances in ballrooms, clubs, recreational centers or shows are prohibited. public.

Joana Lina also urged citizens who are banned, on New Year's Eve, to hold festive events in backyards, squares, squares, squares, streets and avenues and religious vigils, inside and outside temples, between 10 pm on December 31 2020 and 5:00 am on January 1, 2021.

Despite warnings from the authorities, on social networks and in some media, holiday parties are being advertised.

This Wednesday, Paulo de Almeida also appealed to the media to not advertise parties, gatherings and end-of-year dinners "because this type of propaganda violates the Government's recommendations regarding prevention against covid-19".

Asked how the recommendations of the Public Disaster Situation decree will be monitored, the general commander assured that the corporation will "act in compliance" with patrols and surveillance actions to curb possible gatherings.

"I want to warn you that we are facing a second wave that is already hovering close to our borders and, then, we will prevent this wave of the covid-19 from entering our country, so the responsibility is for all of us," he noted.
