Also known as Fort Egypt, this fort is located in the town of Egypt-Praia, municipality of Lobito (Benguela).
The Fort of São Sebastião in Egypt dates back to the 19th century, at the time of the repression of the slave trade in the Atlantic.
At the time, slave ships were trying to escape the patrols carried out by Royal Navy ships, seeking shelter in this area. The fort was built to support British vessels.
