The information was transmitted by Manuel Dembo, deputy and second secretary of the National Assembly, at the end of the conference of the presidents of the parliamentary groups, which approved the agendas of the plenary sessions on 14 and 16 December.

The 2022 State Budget, which estimates revenues and fixes expenses of 18.7 billion kwanzas, will go to the final and global vote during the third extraordinary meeting of the fifth legislative session of the fourth legislature, scheduled for the 14th.

The document, the largest instrument of macroeconomic management in the country, is being discussed by the specialized working committees of the parliament, and the report has yet to be approved as a joint opinion in the specialty before its return to the plenary.

For 2022, the authorities forecast an economic growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the amount of 2.4 percent, with a greater contribution from the oil sector, with 3.1 percent, as pointed out by the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves.

This Thursday, in statements at the end of the conference, the president of the parliamentary group of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), Virgílio de Fontes Pereira, announced that the 2022 State Budget will minimize the country's social difficulties.

"We, the MPLA's parliamentary group, must keep the hope that we can approve a budget, which is not ideal, should be the one that can come closest to an instrument that helps to minimize the difficulties that citizens are going through at this time", stressed the deputy.

According to Manuel Dembo, on the agenda of the fourth extraordinary plenary meeting of the fifth legislative session, scheduled for December 16, there is a vote on most of the bills that approve the Code of Labor Procedure in Angola, the Code of Administrative Procedure and the Code of Administrative Litigation Process.

The draft law on cremation, a new instrument in the national legal system, will also be discussed and voted in general in this plenary.

Benedito Daniel, deputy and president of the Social Renewal Party (PRS), considered that the Cremation Law brings a novelty that will fit "outside of the African, or Angolan/Bantu, habit and custom", which do not cremate bodies .

"We rest on the ground, as we are mixed with the other races of humanity and we are going to introduce an innovation that does not belong to Angolans," he noted.

For his part, the second vice-president of the parliamentary group of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) stated that the Cremation Law will be a "way of introducing this form of treatment of mortal remains into the Angolan legal provision".

"It is true that this is not a way that is part of our habits and customs, which is to bury the corpses, but we also have to take into account that we live in a globalized world today, especially because in Angola requests for this practice are already received, but not without a specific law," pointed out Maurlio Luyele.
