It was up to the executive director of Mining Operations, Administration and Human Resources at Endiama, Domingos Margarida, to provide this information. The person responsible, according to a statement from Endiama, to which VerAngola had access, was speaking this Wednesday, as part of a meeting with representatives of former workers from Sociedade Mineira do Lucapa (SML) and the diamond projects Luarica, Luxinge, Facauma and Yetwene.
At the time, he said that the meeting served to sign the "extrajudicial transaction between the parties, with regard to the completion of the payment of compensation to former employees of the aforementioned companies".
According to the administrator, the company spent approximately seven billion kwanzas for this process.
"For the process that began in June last year, the National Diamond Company of Angola disbursed around seven billion kwanzas, in addition to the training component for the children of former employees, as well as the implementation of projects that guarantee better social conditions to former workers of retirement age and their families", says the note.
Domingos Margarida also assured that "this entire process can be completed by 2027.
Fernando Ginga, lawyer for the former workers, expressed "hope" for the successful conclusion of the process, calling for "permanent dialogue, in order to fully comply with the agreement signed by the parties".
In turn, Alberto Mulonzeno, one of the former employees, mentioned in the statement, praised the "openness of Endiama's management in resolving each point contained in the agreement, having stated that, despite the complexity of the process, he believes in the good faith of the company and its PCA, Ganga Júnior, for a consensual outcome".
It is worth remembering that these compensations are the result of an agreement signed in 2013 between the management of the national company and the group of former employees of those companies.
