At the end of the meeting chaired by the leader of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), João Lourenço, the secretary of the Political Bureau for Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, Pedro Neto, said in statements to the press that the extraordinary congress, which will take place between December 6th and 8th, it will evaluate the party's statutes and approve its communication and marketing plan.
According to Pedro Neto, cited by Angop, the extraordinary congress will generally carry out an assessment of the life of the MPLA since independence in 1975, a period in which it governed Angola uninterruptedly, and the challenges of the future.
"The preparation of the VIII extraordinary congress of the party constituted a strong point of this agenda, and for this reason, we tried to evaluate and approve some documents that will be specifically dealt with at this congress", added Pedro Neto.
