Marília Mendonça's mother fulfills her daughter's dream and will adopt a child in Angola

The mother of Brazilian singer Marília Mendonça, Dona Ruth, has announced that she wants to adopt a child to fulfill her daughter's dream of having a "little sister". To this end, Dona Ruth said that she chose to start the process in Angola due to the high bureaucracy of the adoption system in Brazil.

In a recent interview with Record's 'Domingo Espectacular', the singer's mother said she had started the process of adopting a child, and explained that this choice was motivated by a request from her daughter, who died in 2021.

However, this process was not started in Brazil, but in Angola. In statements to the LeoDias portal, cited by Platinaline, she explained that she decided to choose Angola because the Brazilian adoption system is very bureaucratic: "Before I got married, Marília asked me to join the adoption queue. But here in Brazil there are a lot of bureaucracy to adopt a child. Therefore, I decided to go to Angola, where I help needy children through the institute [Instituto Marília Mendonça]. There, the process is simpler, without as much delay as here", said João Gustavo's mother and Leo's grandmother (son of singer Marília Mendonça and Murilo Huff).

The singer's mother's intention is to adopt a girl, as her daughter's wish has always been to have a "little sister": "Marília always dreamed of having a little sister to take to the mall, buy clothes and decorations. I love children, and so does she loved".

Therefore, Dona Ruth said she was already in contact with lawyers to advance the process. "I'm talking to lawyers in Angola and here to try to speed up the process, because at my age, the time to become a mother again is limited", she highlighted.

In her statements, cited by Platinaline, Ruth also said that her grandson is "growing up surrounded by lots of love", something she also wants for the "child to come".

"Leo is growing up surrounded by a lot of love, and that's what I want for this future child. Love makes all the difference, in any situation, if you are loved, you will never lack for anything", she added.

It is worth remembering that Brazilian singer Marília Mendonça died in 2021, aged 26, in a plane crash.
