"To the Amufert group and Afreximbank, I leave a message: 'I returned today to witness the signing of the engineering, management and construction contract. Please do not invite me for further signatures, we should only meet on May 20, 2027, in Soyo, to start ammonia production", warned the minister, quoted in a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, to which VerAngola had access.
On the occasion, the government official also said that they will make more efforts to create "all the necessary mechanisms so that entrepreneurs can also embrace more projects of this nature".
"I, the Minister of Agriculture and our collaborators will engage even more to create all the necessary mechanisms so that entrepreneurs can also embrace more projects of this nature and have more soil improvers so that our farmers can have the product at their disposal availability, which is very important for increasing agricultural productivity", he said.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, the holder of the Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas portfolio held a meeting with Amufert partners.
"The issues covered include the reaffirmation of all government support for the fertilizer project and the commitment of partners to deliver the project within the established deadlines", reads another statement from the ministry, to which VerAngola had access.
