Sonangol reactivates onshore block operation in the Kwanza basin

Sonangol reactivated operational activities in the KON-11 block, in the Kwanza onshore basin, completing the drilling of the “Tobias-13” well, with a total depth of 960 meters, the oil company announced in a statement.

According to the company, the preliminary assessment of the main reservoir indicates the presence of hydrocarbons whose productive potential will be assessed after the completion of the drilling of a second well in the same block, "Tobias-14", already underway.

Sonangol, operator of the block, has the most significant stake in the KON-11 contractor group with 30 percent, the remainder being distributed by the companies Brite's Oil and Gas with 25 percent, Atlas (APEX) with 20 percent, the Grupo Simples Oil with 20 percent and the company Omega with 5 percent.

The blocks are concessioned by the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG).
