The match, played at the Aldo Cantoni pavilion, started with the Angolans taking the lead on account of the captain of the national team, André Centeno. In what was the first goal of the championship, the Angolan's insistence easily beat the opponents' goalkeeper, Igor Alves.
The second goal was signed by Humberto Mendes 'Big', following a pass from Martin Payero. The first option coming from the Angolan substitute's bench scored the third goal for the national team's account. Filipe Bernardino thus established the score at 0-3, in a counterattack.
Close to the break, 'Big' stamped his name on the scorecards again, after a direct free-kick that set the result at four balls to zero.
In the second half, despite a stronger Mozambique, Angola managed the 0-5, signed by João Pinto.
The Mozambicans still regained ground, with Mário Rodrigues scoring from a direct free-kick (1-5) and at the end of the match with Filipe Vaz setting the score at 2-5.
After the victory, Angola remains in second place in Group B, and this first triumph allows to equal the result obtained in the previous edition – Barcelona 2019 – in which the national team reached sixth place.
In the other game of the group, the hosts Argentina beat the Spaniards by 4-2, putting themselves in the leadership of Group B. Group A is, at the moment, led by Portugal.
In the list of the best scorers is the Argentine Lucas Ordóñez, with three goals scored, followed by Humberto Mendes 'Big', with two.
Angola enters the field again this Wednesday to face Argentina at 22:00 local time (02:00 in Angola).
