"We are talking about a public competition for access that will certainly allow the updating of many careers, we are talking here about more than 180 thousand careers of teachers who will see their salary valued on account of their academic and professional condition," he stated.
The issue was raised by Hermínia do Nascimento, vice-president of the National Union of Teachers of Angola (Sinprof), who indicated that according to the memorandum signed, the updating of the salaries of promoted teachers "would start in October".
Quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), Hermínia do Nascimento stated that they are waiting for this update: "We are waiting at all times for the teacher to see his salary already reflected according to the category in which he was promoted".
"According to the memorandum that was signed, implementation would start in October, so it will be up to the Ministry of Finance to also honor the commitment that the Government has in relation to teachers," she added.
