Big names in the world's diamond sector gather in Saurimo next week

The Saurimo Diamond Pole, inaugurated by João Lourenço in August, will be the stage for the first International Diamond Conference (AIDC) and the presentation of business opportunities in the diamond subsector, to be held from 25 to 27 November.

The names of Pierre De Bosscher, European Director of Delgatto Diamond Finance Fund and global financier of the diamond industry, and of Herman Grütter, holder of vast accumulated experience working in Angola for BHP Billiton, are also confirmed.

The event is scheduled to analyze topics related to geological-mining research, diamond exploration in Angola, diamond cutting, marketing and world diamond market, technological innovation and logistics in the industry, financing of diamond projects, as well as exhibitions on information geological, mining operations, mining equipment, support services to the mining industry and jewelry.

The conference will bring together mining ministers from the main African diamond producing nations, leaders of diamond companies, national and international industry experts, multinationals such as Alrosa, Rio Tinto and Anglo American, international media specializing in the sector and businessmen.

According to the secretary of State for Mineral Resources and coordinator of the AIDC, Jânio Corrêa Víctor, the speakers and other international guests will arrive in Angola next Tuesday, the 23rd.
