Angola cashed in 7.2 billion dollars from oil exports in the third quarter

Angola received US$7.2 billion from exports of 98.6 million barrels of crude oil in the third quarter of 2021, representing an increase of 0.58 per cent over the previous quarter.

The achievements of the oil sector throughout the months of July, August and September 2021 were presented this Thursday by the Secretary of State for Oil and Gas, Alexandre Barroso.

According to the official, the volume exported in the period corresponds to approximately 1.7 million barrels/day valued at a weighted average price of 73.2 dollars/barrel.

The amount of crude oil exported in the third quarter of this year "represents an increase of approximately 0.58 percent over the previous quarter and a decrease of 10.38 percent compared to the same period in 2020".

ANPG - Angola's National Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Agency's share of the total exported volume is 25.30 percent and 19.19 percent corresponds to the state oil company Sonangol.

In the period under review, the price of 'brent' dated on the international market ranged between 66 and 79 dollars per barrel and was "mainly influenced by the recovery in demand in the markets of the United States of America, Europe and Asia, but also by the positive impact" which has had "the action of vaccination against covid-19", referred Alexandre Barroso.

In terms of domestic oil destinations, the largest volume was exported to China with around 69.2 percent, followed by India and South Africa with approximately 6.8 percent and 3.9 percent, respectively.
