"Everything indicates that production will start in the fourth quarter of next year. The project has an execution in the order of 40 percent", revealed Feliciano Ingo, ANPG's Production Reservoir engineer.

According to the responsible, cited by Opaís, the exploration, reservoir, production and drilling of the field were analyzed by several studies, and the field is in the final phase of execution.

For now, the production lines are being made and the field already has several submerged equipments, and most of the work is being done by the company Sonamet, in Lobito.

The Platina field, which is in block 18 and has an investment of 820 million dollars, will be able to reach a maximum production of around 17 thousand barrels of oil per day, within a time horizon of two and a half years. It will also have the capacity to extract oil from the surface, using four wells, in a production that should reach 44 million by 2032 and count with an investment of 18 dollars per barrel and the maintenance capital of six barrels per day.

The ANPG director, Ana Miala, who also participated in the webinar, indicated that the oil production in the country has been decreasing since 2008. She indicated that for the moment the country has 15 concessions - three on land and 12 in water - which reach a production of around 1 million and 263 in daily average, with oscillation between 1 million and 200 and 1 million and 290.
