Angola shows increase in economic crimes in the last three quarters

Economic crimes in Angola have increased in the last three quarters, with a record of 3567, up 366 compared to the same period last year, resulting in 2774 arrests (+236), the authorities informed this Wednesday.

This information was provided by the Minister of the Interior, Eugénio Laborinho, when he was speaking at the opening of the Extended Consultative Council, which took stock of public security in the last three quarters of the current year, as well as other internal issues.

Eugénio Laborinho said that at the time in question 1315 firearms of various calibres were seized, 63 more than in the same period, while border crimes, with 7413 cases, showed a decrease of 819 crimes.
