Inaugurated Integrated Public Security Center in Benguela

After the capital, it is the turn of the province of Benguela to receive an Integrated Public Security Center (CISP). The inauguration of this center, the second to be opened in the country, took place this Monday, November 9.

The inauguration of the CISP - which was funded by the People's Republic of China, especially through Chinese company CEIEC and its partners - Huawei, Govec and others - comes a year after the building works were completed. Until then the center was operating on an experimental basis, but only this Monday it was officially opened.

The honors were done by Pedro Sebastião, Minister of State and Head of the Security House of the President of the Republic, representing the President, João Lourenço.

CISP Benguela integrates several services (Ministry of Interior, Armed Forces, National Police, Civil Protection, Firefighters, Medical Emergencies, among others), thus allowing to manage and respond more efficiently to citizens' requests for help.

It consists of a command and control room with capacity for 48 seats, a video surveillance room, data analysis and intelligence and also has the collaboration of over 300 technicians.

Eugénio Laborinho, Minister of the Interior, quoted by Novo Jornal, admitted that this second center will help reinforce Benguela's security. It will also make it possible to control road traffic.

The provincial delegate of the Interior Ministry, Commander Aristofanes dos Santos, said, in declarations to the TPA, that this center will be "an asset" and that it will help to better coordinate security forces and services at all levels.

"It's a real security revolution in our country," he said.

It is important to remember that, along with the centers in Luanda and Benguela, 16 more centers are planned, one in each province.
