After Luanda, Huíla and Benguela, it was Huambo's turn to host the exhibition with works by Picasso

The exhibition with works by Pablo Picasso has already arrived in the province of Huambo. Having already visited Luanda, Huíla and Benguela, the Spanish artist's work is now on display at the Manuel Rui Cultural Center, in Huambo, and can be visited until November 20th.

The exhibition – made up of the collections 'O Enterro do Conde de Orgaz' and 'A Flauta Dupla', which feature 28 works by Pablo Picasso – was opened by the director of the Provincial Secretariat of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Jeremias Piedade Chissanga.

"At the opening of the exhibition, the ribbon was cut, representing the governor of the province of Huambo, Pereira Alfredo, by the director of the Provincial Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Jeremias Piedade Chissanga", in an act that "was witnessed by the administrator of ENSA, Amália Barbosa, by the general director of the Cultural Center, Gregório Tchikola, and by the rector of the International University of Kwanza, Carlos Martínez", says a statement, sent to VerAngola.

On the occasion, Jeremias Piedade Chissanga took the opportunity to thank the initiative, highlighting that it "comes to value and reinforce the importance of the Manuel Rui Cultural Center".

"It's yet another reason to visit the city of Huambo", added the official.

ENSA's executive director, Amália Barbosa, highlighted that "ENSA has long had the ambition to decentralize its social responsibility initiatives, having managed to achieve this objective now with the exhibition of these works by Picasso".

The exhibition will be open to the public until the 20th of next month.

"The exhibition, open to the public until November 20, six days a week, with guided tours, is supported by ENSA, the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), owner of the collections, the Spanish Embassy in Angola, the International University of Cuanza and AJS Transportes e Logística", points out the note.

The objective of this exhibition, says the document, is to "show the public, especially younger people, in particular art students, as well as visual artists, works by one of the greatest art masters of the 20th century".

The inauguration event was also attended by representatives of public and private companies, members of the Huambo provincial government, teachers and university students.
