According to a statement from BAI sent to VerAngola, the distinction took place last Saturday, at an event held in the United States of America (USA).
"BAI — Banco Angolano de Investimentos S.A. (Open Society) was considered by Global Finance magazine as 'Best Bank in Angola 2024' and 'Best Safest Bank in Angola 2024', in Washington DC (USA), last Saturday, the 26th October, in an event that brought together the main players in the global financial sector", says the note.
According to the magazine, "investment in digital transformation, modernization of services and expansion of product offerings was the basis for these awards".
This year, BAI "launched investment solutions, new credits, in addition to continuing to be a solid reference in financing for families and companies", says the statement.
However, the recognition does not stop there. In addition to this distinction, the bank was also "recognized by The Banker magazine (United Kingdom), in another independent study, as one of the largest and best banks in Africa, occupying 30th position in the 'Africa's Top 100 Banks 2024' ranking".

We know that we face some challenges, such as instabilities at BAI Directo, but we are convinced and committed to improving, according to our 28-year history of products and innovative services for the Angolan economy can prove", said Fábio Correia, director of Communication and Brand Management at BAI, during the award reception in the USA.
In the note, BAI says it wants to "continue to play the role of financial partner, with a strong presence in sectors that boost the economy, and credit granted to companies in the domestic market exceeded 393.8 billion kwanzas on June 30, 2024, with an increase compared to the 370.8 billion kwanzas, registered on December 31, 2023".
