Petro de Luanda eliminated from the African League in football

The Angolan team of Petro de Luanda, under the leadership of the Portuguese coach, Alexandre Santos, were eliminated from the African Football League this Tuesday, after a 0-0 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns, in the second leg of the quarter-finals.

In a game played at the Loftus Versfeld stadium, in Pretoria, South African territory, the two-time national champions, who retained greater possession of the ball, did not produce enough game volume to pass the round, after losing 2-0, in Luanda, in the game of the first hand.

With this result, South African Mamelodi Sundows will face Al Ahly, from Egypt, in the semi-finals, who drew 1-1 against Simba FC, from Tanzania, after a 2-2 draw in the first leg.

In the other quarter-final matches, Wydad de Casablanca, from Morocco, faces Enymba from Nigeria, while Esperance de Tunis from Tunisia plays against TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
