On November 13th, the soap opera "América" will premiere.
The premiere is scheduled for 10pm.
The main story revolves around the desire of a Brazilian woman to fulfill her dream of crossing the Mexican border and arriving illegally in the United States of America (USA). The soap opera talks about the search for and fulfillment of dreams through the love story of Sol (played by Deborah Secco) and Tião (played by Murilo Benício).
Tião grew up valuing his Brazilian roots with a love for the land and the animals in his universe. When he was a boy, he saw his father Acácio (played by Chico Diaz) set out to try to find diamonds in the mines in order to improve the lives of his children and his wife Mazé (played by Nívea Maria), but Acácio ends up dying in a cave collapse. The soap opera will show Tião fighting to succeed in his country.
Sol, who had a miserable childhood in Rio de Janeiro, dreams of living in the USA, where she believes she will have a better life. Sol will not give up trying his luck elsewhere and will embark towards Mexico through a dangerous international network led by Djanira Pimenta (played by Betty Faria). However, the reality they will face is worse than they imagined.
