Petro wins and is closer to the African Champions League. 1.º de Agosto loses and goes further

Petro de Luanda beat Cape Town City by 3-0 in the first leg of the first qualifying round for the African Football Champions League. 1.º de Agosto lost by three balls to one, in Luanda, against Simba Sports Club, from Tanzania.

In Petro's visit to South Africa, Gleison, in the 37th minute, and Tiago Azulão, twice, in the 48th and 63rd, scored the goals of the national team, which, thus, leaves with some comfort for the second leg, on 14 October, in Luanda, and is closer to qualifying for the group stage of the continental competition.

1.º de Agosto lost 3-1, in Luanda, against Simba Sports Club, from Tanzania, also in the first round, and is on the verge of failing to qualify.

Clatous, at eight minutes, Patrick, at 63, and Mozes, at 76, scored the goals of the visitors, while Dagó, at 79, from a penalty, reduced the disadvantage.

The Angolans go at a disadvantage to Tanzania, where, within a week, they decide to continue in the competition, in a second leg match, against the same opponent.

For the African Confederation Cup, the Angolans of Sagrada Esperança, led by the Portuguese Alexandre Ribeiro, lost against Saint-Éloi Lupopo, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, by 2-0, in Congolese territory.

Masakidi, in the 30th minute, and Kazema, in the 90th minute, scored the goals of the Congolese, who go ahead in the second leg of the qualifying round, scheduled for 15 October, in Luanda.
