The information was provided by the governor of Moxico province, Ernesto Muangala. "We are planning the construction of a new municipal hospital, with services of medicine, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics, genealogy and a laboratory with an X-ray area, among several services", informed the official, quoted in a note from the provincial government, to which VerAngola had access.
According to the official, at the end of a visit to the current health unit, the future hospital will be built at the headquarters of Kangamba, during the current term. "A new health unit will be built at the headquarters of Kangamba, municipality of Luchazes, during this mandate", reads the note.
During his visit to the Kangamba Health Center, the governor "interacted with the professionals", who expressed several "difficulties that condition a good provision of the public health service to the citizens, such as the lack of ambulances, an equipped laboratory and the inexistence of a blood bank, which forces the evacuation of patients in difficult conditions to Luena, which is about 357 kilometers from the municipal headquarters", the provincial government said in a statement.
The governor, quoted by Angop, also referred that the present municipal hospital no longer has sufficient conditions as it resembles "a medical center or post", considering that the new hospital will be able to carry out radiology exams among other analyses.
Ernesto Muangala also informed that, while waiting for the construction of the new hospital, some measures will be taken to solve some problems, highlighting "the availability of an ambulance, the installation of a blood bank, the reactivation of the surgery services and other actions", advances the note from the provincial government.
"We are going to work to solve the problems of our population", reaffirmed the governor.
