The official revealed that the debt was for a total of ten months. He also added that the amount in arrears for selected scholarship holders for the academic year 2020/2021 was around 580 thousand kwanzas for each student taking a bachelor's degree and one million kwanzas for the scholarship holders who were doing master's and doctoral degrees.

Speaking to Jornal de Angola, Milton Chivela indicated that the debt "was paid in full", but admitted that "it is possible that students will show up who have not been paid".

"If they arise, it will be a smaller number, which will also be resolved," he indicated.

The official also informed that the scholarship renewal process is already open and will remain in force until November 16th. To proceed with the renewal, students must access the INAGBE website, he explained, adding that "the payment of scholarships for the academic year 2021/2022 are only accepted after this process".

For that reason, he urged students to be swift in the renewal process, to ensure that grants are paid on time.

He also made it known that the scholarship holders under the charge of the institute are taking training in various areas included in the Staff Training Plan and explained that this plan emphasizes Engineering, Health Sciences, Literature, Sports, Art, among others.

He clarified that "scholarships for other areas are not impeded, but the priority ones" are the ones highlighted above.

He concluded by stating that no student was expelled from educational establishments for not having paid the fees, as the institute had been in contact with the schools and explained the situation.
