Fortim do Quicombo was built during the period of Dutch occupation, between 1645 and 1646.
The fortification was built by the then governor of Angola, Francisco de Souto Maior. However, in 1648, Salvador Correia de Sá ordered the fort to be reformed.
Located in the commune of Quicombo, in the province of Cuanza Sul, this building was also linked to the slave trade, having served as a shipping warehouse.
