Covid-19: Angola with 143 new infections and four deaths in the last 24 hours

Health authorities announced this Wednesday the registration of 143 new cases, four deaths and 121 recovered, in the last 24 hours.

According to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health, the province of Luanda registered 114 cases of the total of new infections, which were registered in people aged between seven months and 81 years, being 90 male and 53 feminine.

Regarding the four deaths, three were reported in Luanda and one in Bié, aged between 29 and 77 years, two males and an equal number females.

As for recoveries, they were notified in Luanda (84), Malanje (20), Huíla (10), Zaire (4), Bié (2) and Namibe (1), aged between one and 87 years.

With the data from the last ones, the country reached the cumulative of 63,340 confirmed cases, 1682 deaths, 51,891 recovered and 9767 active, of which 16 critical, 18 severe, 71 moderate, 64 mild and 9598 asymptomatic, with 169 patients hospitalized, in institutional quarantine 85 people and 4290 contacts under epidemiological surveillance.

In the reporting period, laboratories processed 3577 samples by RT-PCR, with a daily positivity rate of 3.9 percent, making the cumulative 1,082,334 samples processed to date, with a cumulative positivity rate of 5.9 percent.

Covid-19 has caused at least 4,910,200 deaths worldwide, among more than 241.48 million infections by the new coronavirus registered since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the latest report by the Agence France-Presse.

The respiratory disease is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, detected at the end of 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China, and currently with variants identified in several countries.
