Affluent of the River Kwanza, the River Lucala is known to give rise to the Falls of Kalandula.
The river, located in Kwanza Norte, flows from the north to the south of the country and is one of the main constituents of the Kwanza basin.
It is considered an important water resource for the provinces of Uige, Malanje and Kwanza Norte and is one of the main attractions of the village Lucala.
