"This data (the valorization of the ex-military and veterans of the country) is part of the program that the ministry has, in the sense of continuing to value all those who gave their best so that the country would be what it is today," said João Ernesto dos Santos "Liberdade".

The leader, who was speaking at the end of the speech on the State of the Nation given this Thursday by the President, João Lourenço, in parliament, guaranteed "work so that the sector can play a decisive role in the defense of the national territory".

João Ernesto dos Santos "Liberdade" devalued the demands that still persist in the bosom of ex-military, especially regarding the increase of their pensions and better living conditions.

"There are no great demands in relation to this (ex-military)," the minister assured.

"We're working, I believe that in a little while the National Assembly will appreciate the law that will allow former combatants to have access to something they don't have today," he concluded.

The President, João Lourenço, spoke this Thursday to the nation during a speech that marked the opening of the parliamentary year 2020-2021.

In his speech, the head of state announced that his government will finance the acquisition of 500 tractors of national production to deliver to ex-military organized in cooperatives.

According to João Lourenço, between October 2019 and August 2020, more than 1550 ex-military personnel were reintegrated, some through the Integrated Program for Local Development and Fight against Poverty and others through the Government's Program for Strengthening Integration, but not all benefit from the same conditions.

"We condemn the attitude of politicians and political groupings who deceptively promise ex-military personnel their insertion in the Armed Forces Social Security Fund, a right reserved exclusively for officers in the condition of retirees, a process that obeys very well defined rules by law," he declared.

João Lourenço said that the executive will finance the acquisition of 500 tractors of national production, through the FADA (Agricultural Development Support Fund), to benefit ex-military organized in cooperatives.
