In a statement sent to VerAngola, BODIVA explains that, in the first phase, the scholarships will only be available to students from the province of Luanda.
"In the first phase, the scholarships will only be available to students from the province of Luanda, attending educational institutions legally recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education, reinforcing the BODIVA project hand in hand with the Universities", the statement reads.
For now, a dozen scholarships will be made available to students aged between 18 and 25.
"This first edition will make a total of 10 scholarships available to students aged between 18 and 25, contributing to the inclusion of young people without financial means in the academic world, and also ensuring a promising future in the job market", says BODIVA.
This initiative, the note states, is part of BODIVA's social responsibility plan, which was launched last year with the aim of "supporting the most needy communities, promoting well-being and improving the living conditions of ordinary citizens".
With this programme, BODIVA says it is reaffirming "its commitment to Angolan society", as well as aligning itself with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, "in favour of eradicating poverty by promoting access to quality education".
