According to preliminary data on the evolution of the production sector assessed by the Economic Team (EE) and released by the Government, in monthly terms production grew by 4.3 percent between June and July of this year, rising from 6,983 kiloliters to 7,286 kiloliters.
The largest producers of cooking oil in the country are Grupo Carrinho - which has a refinery - Sovena and Induve, both with filling lines. In the future, the Naval Group, whose refinery will begin production next November, and Angoalisar, which will begin operating in the sector from 2025, will contribute to an increase in these figures.
It is worth remembering that the Italian multinational ENI will also invest in the production of cooking oil from cereals. The project covers an area of around 150 thousand hectares, planning to produce more than 120 thousand tons of oil and creating more than 100 thousand jobs.
In a statement to which VerAngola had access, the Government states that, "for full integration", the Executive's focus is now on the production of soybeans and sunflowers.
