According to the ministerial entity, samples of the suspected cases mentioned, reported at the end of August, were sent to the laboratory of the National Institute for Health Research, where they turned out to be negative.
The rapid response teams "did not find clinical evidence of monkeypox in all suspected cases," the ministry said in a statement, ensuring that it remains under maximum surveillance to prevent the disease from entering the country.
Strengthening epidemiological and laboratory surveillance, investigating suspected cases, tracking contacts, applying isolation and biosafety measures, as well as training professionals are among the actions developed by health authorities.
Provinces are still being reinforced with biosafety material, medicines and medical products, especially in border areas with neighboring countries with notification of confirmed cases, for the possible registration of positive cases of mpox in the country.
The Ministry of Health also says that it remains committed to reporting on the epidemiological situation in the country, to ensuring continuous surveillance of health borders and calls on society to remain calm and serene.
Angola shares a vast land and river border with the Democratic Republic of Congo, the epicenter of the virus.
