‘Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Award’ will be instituted by the Government

The creation of the 'Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Award' and respective regulations were approved, this Thursday, by the Council of Ministers during its eighth ordinary session, which was guided by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

In a statement, to which VerAngola had access, the Government explains that the aforementioned award "aims to stimulate development, recognize innovative initiatives, encourage national production and environmental sustainability, encourage competitiveness, the quality of goods and services with the 'Made in Angola' seal, economic activity and job creation".

The Minister of Economy and Planning, Mário Caetano João, who was speaking to the press, said that an evaluation committee will be created to "analyze the applications and propose the winners".

"We hope this will have an impact on the two pillars of development: human capital and food security", highlighted the minister, quoted in the statement.

According to the holder of the Economy and Planning portfolio, across the board, the award will also impact "the most diverse development filters", highlighting tax revenue.

"All candidates must demonstrate tax and contributory regularization. We hope that this will also impact youth, through entrepreneurship and job creation", said Mário Caetano João.

According to the statement, one of the criteria for awarding the prize "is that there must be a product with the 'Made in Angola' seal".

The minister explained that "the criterion will be 15 percent, in the evaluation process and also in tiebreaker situations", adding: "We also have that company that demonstrates that it has the largest number of products with the 'Made in Angola' seal" .

On the occasion, the government official highlighted that the Government also wants to "demonstrate some patriotism in national production aimed at diversifying the economy", the note reads.
