Petro de Luanda threatens to prevent its players from representing Angola

The president of Petro de Luanda, Tomás Faria, promised to prevent the players of the national champion club, guided by Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos, from representing the Angolan football team, in case the FAF does not register the forward Depú.

:

"If the FAF doesn't sign up Depú, in solidarity, our players won't go to CHAN, or to another national team commitment. Why doesn't the FAF respond to our letters", he asked, adding: "It happened with the issue of Caála, now with the matter of Laurindo Depú. It's not acceptable, it's a lack of respect, we won't go to CHAN if they don't change their minds".

Last week, Petro de Luanda released a press release in which it expressed its dissatisfaction with the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), for not responding to several requests from the club, for a clarification meeting on the non-issuance of Depú's license, between other complaints.

With this decision, the national coach, the Portuguese Pedro Gonçalves, runs the risk of being prevented from having Petro de Luanda players in the squad.
