Relaunch of ENCIB among the commitments of the Provincial Government of Luanda

The relaunch of the National Company for the Construction of Basic Infrastructures (ENCIB) is part of the intentions of the Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL). The commitment was made this Wednesday by Manuel Homem, governor of Luanda, as part of a restructuring and recapitalization plan for the company.

Among the objectives of the project is the creation of conditions at the financial and workforce level so that ENCIB is able to face the obstacles of the capital, both in terms of its maintenance and in terms of remodeling secondary and tertiary roads, said the governor, quoted by Angop.

Manuel Homem made a visit to ENCIB, where he met with workers and the company's management and in which he was informed about the lack of regulation of social security since 2012 - a situation that conditions the workers' reform - and the fact that previous management had not pay 14 months of wages.

These problems may be resolved with the payment of the debt that the provincial government owes the company. Cited by Angop, the governor considered that the payment of the debt, in the amount of around two billion kwanzas, should help to solve the problem of social security as well as the arrears of wages.

Despite the difficulties mentioned, the official asserted that ENCIB maintains its services, being involved in plans to remodel secondary and tertiary roads in Viana and Cacuaco.

The same vision was defended by Laurindo Tchoia, director of the company, who said that despite the company's difficulties left by the ex-management for more than a year, ENCIB has tried to respond to obstacles, by paying salaries to employees.

Also quoted by Angop, he informed that last year the ENCIB had positive results, having amassed around 178 million kwanzas, as a result of some works carried out.

He also considered that they need to discover more market opportunities, aiming to "attack and give more potential to the company". "We need to find more market opportunities so that we can attack and give more potential to the company," he said, quoted by Angop.

He also mentioned the technical means, referring that ENCIB has been benefiting from the support of the government of Luanda, but currently it is necessary to renew this support in order to improve the capacity and quality of the company.

Founded over four decades ago, ENCIB is focused on the restructuring of secondary and tertiary roads, construction of gutters and bridges, among others.
