The representative also mentioned that, in environmental terms, the country is in line with international agreements and underlined the approval of the "national strategy on climate change and environmental education".
"The Republic of Angola is aligned with the international consensus on sustainable development, including the African Union's 2063 agenda on the environment, having approved the national strategy on climate change and environmental education, and plans to achieve the target of 70 percent of energy from from non-polluting sources by 2025, favoring clean energy from hydroelectric dams and solar energy", he said, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).
In her speech, she also highlighted the investments that have been made to overcome the drought in the south of the country.
"In this sense, many and significant investments have been made to mitigate the effects of the prolonged drought that affects the southern region of Angola, with emphasis on the inauguration in 2022 of the aqueduct in Cunene province that ensures access to water for 350,000 citizens in an extension 160 kilometers, thus guaranteeing supplies for the population, livestock and irrigation", he concluded.
