The economic situation for companies in the second quarter is based on the response to the situation survey by selected companies, whose objective is to analyze the business environment in Angola.
Most of the sectors under analysis showed a positive year-on-year trend and evolution and a favorable environment between April and June.
"The confidence indicators of the manufacturing and transport sector showed a positive trend, evolved favorably in relation to the same period of the previous year and remained above the series average", according to INE.
The economic environment was equally favorable for companies in the extractive industry and tourism sectors, as the indicators showed an upward trend.
"They evolved positively in relation to the same period last year and remained above the series average", says the document.
The same happened with the economic environment, which remained favorable for the commerce sector, "as the indicator stagnated in relation to the previous quarter, remaining at the same level as the series average".
However, the economic situation in the communication and construction sectors remains unfavourable.
"It was found, in the construction sector, that the low demand had a negative influence on the activity of companies in this sector. On the other hand, in the communication sector, in the opinion of entrepreneurs, financial difficulties contributed to the negative behavior of the indicator", justifies the INE.
