United Kingdom opens applications for 1500 Chevening fellows including Angolans

The United Kingdom has at its disposal, for the academic year 2020/2021, more than 1500 Chevening Masters Scholarships, which has already enabled the training of 109 Angolan scholarship holders, informed the British embassy in Angola.

A statement, to which the Lusa agency had access, explained that the grants are from a global program, financed by the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development and partner organizations.

The objective of this scholarship program is to promote that individuals with leadership potential take a master's degree in the United Kingdom, ensuring that future leaders, decision makers and opinion makers can acquire top studies in that country in Europe.

The note stressed that the grants provide full financial support for future leaders to study for a master's degree of their choice, at any British university, while also having access to a wide range of unique academic, professional and cultural experiences.

"In the past 35 years, 50,000 professionals with strong potential have had the opportunity to progress in the United Kingdom, through Chevening, including 109 scholarship holders from Angola", reads the statement.

Regarding the application process, the British Embassy points out that due to the covid-19 pandemic, the period has been shortened to two months, with the start scheduled for Thursday, with an end scheduled for November 3, to be done 'online'. , on the www.chevening.org portal.
