According to Angop, this regime covers workers who, under the subordinate authority of a single or collective employer, provide services on holdings organized in agricultural, fisheries and commercial companies.
The total average wage of these workers should not exceed twenty national minimum wages, with reference to the agriculture sector.
In the same session, which took place in the Salão Nobre of the Presidential Palace, under the guidance of President João Lourenço, the Economic Commission also approved a legal instrument that institutionalizes the Social Security Mediation Activity, in order to define and regulate the exercise of the activity in the country, with the aim of allowing the raising and awareness of taxpayers and policyholders for the Mandatory Social Protection System.
In the same context, the Legal Regime for Protection in Old Age was also approved. The right to an old-age retirement pension, an early retirement pension and an old-age pension is established for all workers who reach 60 years of age or complete 420 months of contributions.
This new document changes the criteria for calculating social benefits that cover old-age retirement, in order to "guarantee contributive justice", not only to current beneficiaries, but also to future pensioners.
