Despite the shots fired into the air, the police said, the attackers "insistently continued to rebel against the officer who then fired two more shots, one of which hit the victim's abdomen".
The citizen concerned was rescued to a hospital, but due to his serious condition, he died within minutes of arriving at the health unit.
