At the ceremony, João Lourenço wished the newly sworn-in ambassadors "great success."

"Since this is merely a change of positions, I would simply like to wish them much success in carrying out their duties, which, as of today, they will be performing in a different country, different from the one they were in until today," he stated.

In his speech, released in a statement by the Presidency of the Republic and that VerAngola had access to, the head of state also asked the diplomats to represent the country well.

"May they represent the good name of Angola well, whether in South Africa or in the Republic of Ghana," he said.

At the ceremony, Rui Orlando Ferreira de Ceita da Silva Xavier and João Baptista Domingos Quiosa were sworn in as Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Angola to Ghana and South Africa, respectively.

"The inauguration ceremony of the new heads of diplomatic missions took place in the Grand Hall of the Presidential Palace, in the presence of the Ministers of State, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other officials from the Central State Administration, as well as secretaries to the President of the Republic," the statement from the Presidency states.

The Presidency also notes that "both were appointed to these positions last Thursday, July 31st, constituting a reciprocal change of positions."
