At the South Paris Arena 6, the national team had to win the fifth round of Group B to progress, as did the Brazilians, who were already leading 14-6 at half-time.

Driven by full-backs Gabriela Bitolo, who scored seven goals, and Samara Vieira (six), the 'canarinhas' secured the last spot in the 'poule'.

Thus, Brazil, in fourth place, with four points, follows the leader and Olympic champion France (10), the Netherlands (second, with eight) and Hungary (third, with five).

Angola (fifth, with three) and Spain, with no points, were left by the wayside.
