“We have reached the final stage of the period for choosing the winner of the greatest international literary award, the Francisco González Gold Edition - 2025. The Angolan writer - resident in the province of Huambo - Eugénio Afonso Gaspar (better known as Nituecheni Africano) obtained the highest number of votes, 3,765”, explains the organization in a statement.
With his literary work “Pope Francis: the Historic Fall”, Eugénio Afonso Gaspar will receive a prize of 10,000 dollars and a gold medal with the face of the Venezuelan politician and businessman Francisco Gonzalez engraved on it.
“In second place was the Brazilian writer Kelly Cortez with her literary work ‘It Happened in Paris', with 2,547 favorable votes”, it adds.
Third place went to the French-Venezuelan writer Miguel Bonnefoy, with the literary work “Vestígio do Inventor", with 2,242 votes, according to the organizers.
The award ceremony will take place on June 25 in the city of Caracas, Venezuela.
The Francisco Gonzales Prize was created to recognize and recognize young writers who have made significant contributions to the advancement of world literature.
The prize is an initiative of businessman and politician Francisco Gonzales, who seeks to promote and value Venezuelan and world culture with the purpose of providing opportunities for promising writers in a world where literature is a powerful instrument of social and cultural transformation.
The first prize is worth 10,000 dollars the second prize is 5,000 and the third prize is 3,000.
