Three Angolans are among the 50 most prominent cultural figures in Africa

The French magazine 'Le Point' placed the names of three Angolans on the list of the 50 most prominent cultural figures in Africa. The writer Nituecheni Africano, the King of Bailundo, Tchongolola Tchongonga Ekuikui VI, and the director of the office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports in Huambo, Jeremias Piedade Chissanga, are the three Angolans who appear among the fifty figures.

The aforementioned magazine, according to Angop, has been highlighting people from different cultural segments around the world, and, at the beginning of this year, it 'turned its eyes' on Africa and ended up highlighting the aforementioned Angolans.

Being classified as a major name in African literature, Nituecheni Africano is 33 years old and has some awards and achievements under his belt. According to Angop, here highlights the victory, in December last year, of the 'Literary Reference' award, in Rio de Janeiro, as well as the achievement, in 2022, of the best novel category of the IV edition of the Grand Contest Literary of Latin America with the book "O Imigrante da Web e Suas Tolices".

Furthermore, it is also worth highlighting the fact that last year Word-Book Revier (Brazilian magazine) elected Nituecheni Africano as ambassador of literature in five African countries, namely Uganda, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar and Sierra Leone.

Another of the names highlighted by the magazine is that of Jeremias Peidade Chissanga, which 'paints' him as a political leader and excellent admirer of African culture, who continues to encourage young people to value the culture of their people. He also has an award on his CV, that of cultural ambassador, recently awarded at the 'Literary Reference' awards in Brazil.

The highlight of the King of Bailundo falls on the visit he made recently to Brazil. "The king of the Bailundo tribe did what many African kings did not do during his reign, investing firmly in the valorization and rescue of African culture. To this day he requests the Portuguese state to return the pieces removed and belonging to his kingdom", says the magazine, cited by Angop.

It should also be noted that the three Angolans live in Huambo.
