Angola with new ambassadors in Argentina, Timor-Leste, Australia and Indonesia

This Wednesday, the President of the Republic appointed new ambassadors in Timor-Leste, Australia and Indonesia, according to a press release from the Presidential Palace. Also this week, the Angolan ambassador to Argentina, Azevedo Xavier Francisco, presented the credentials to the President of the South American country.

José Andrade de Lemos, who was ambassador to the United Arab Emirates until 2019, is the new representative in Timor-Leste.

For Australia, António Manuel Luvualu de Carvalho, who was in Equatorial Guinea, was appointed, and for Indonesia will follow Florêncio Mariano da Conceição e Almeida, who ceased his duties in Brazil in March this year.

The Angolan ambassador to Argentina, Azevedo Xavier Francisco, presented this Monday to the President of Argentina, Alberto Fernandes, the letters of credentials that make him official as the new representative of the Angolan State in the country.

The act took place at the Presidential Palace, in Buenos Aires, where the Argentine Head of State welcomed the new ambassador. Right after the meeting, the diplomat laid a wreath at the Monument to General José de San Martín, who headed the struggle for the liberation of Argentina.

The head of the Angolan diplomatic mission in Argentina will also be responsible for Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, countries in the same region. Diplomat Azevedo Xavier Francisco is Angola's fifth ambassador to Argentina, after having visited Zambia.
