"The strike began today at 8:00 am, nationwide, with 100 percent adherence, without any pronouncement from the employers until the present moment", said Joaquim de Brito Teixeira.
The trade unionist stressed that the strike, decreed for non-compliance with the agreement between the parties, will last until Friday, if there is no pronouncement from the employer, which in a document issued on Friday considered the strike illegal.
According to the secretary general of SOJA, some intimidation and coercion were recorded in different places.
"It's something we are used to hearing and seeing", said Joaquim Teixeira de Brito, noting that in Luanda this type of situation was found in some services, namely in the Single Guiché located in the building of the former insurance company AAA, of the waterfront , and at Our Center.
Regarding the allegation that the strike was illegal by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, the secretary general of SOJA considered "the normal pronouncement at this time when employers have nothing to answer for".
In the document, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights states that the procedure for declaring a strike "is riddled with various vices that blemish its exercise as intended by the union".
The employer argues that SOJA did not present any document proving the holding of the general assembly of workers, its notice or deliberative quorum with the signatures of all the workers present.
According to the Government, SOJA never interacted with management to address issues related to workers, the allegation of lack of availability by the Ministry's management to dialogue with workers being "false and malicious".
"SOJA cannot and does not have legitimacy to declare a national strike because justice officials are not all members of the union. Therefore, SOJA's intervention and its illegal strike would only apply to its members, which, in this case, also would not be admissible because this strike is illegal and illegal strikes are not binding on the ministry", says the document, in which they express their willingness "as always" to dialogue.
SOJA in a statement refers that an ordinary general meeting of workers was held on 29 July in the province of Benguela, to "analyze the degree of non-compliance with the points contained in the agreement signed between the employer (Ministry of Justice and Human Rights Humans) and SOJA".
The document points out non-compliance with regard to the demands for improvements in technical and administrative services, whose conditions are currently "inhuman and inconceivable" in several provinces of the country, as well as problems with remuneration statutes, which "deserve careful treatment".
