About this achievement, the researcher said it had great significance and explained that the recognition was based on an article published last year by a group of colleagues, but that all the work of that publication was based on her PhD.

"That means a lot to me because it took two decades of work and to be recognized today specifically for an article we published with a group of colleagues in 2021, but that all the work in that publication was based on my doctoral work - production and evolution of antibiotics, in this case antibiotics produced by a bacterium", he said, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA)

According to the researcher – graduated from the University of Newscastle (United Kingdom) – the project presents an innovative aspect, as the antibiotics were produced in solid form instead of the usual use of fermenters in liquid form.

"The innovative thing about this project is that antibiotics are normally produced by the fermenters in liquid form, but we here in this work produce the antibiotics in solid form", she said, quoted by RNA.

He added that the publication had a "great impact on readers" and that they received several invitations, including the publication of a book: "This article had a great impact on readers, we received many invitations, we were even invited to publish a book which is already on sale on Amazon".

In turn, Marcílio dos Santos, director general of the Instituto Superior Politécnico de Tecnologia e Ciência (ISPTEC), considered that Teresa Matoso Victor's research will bring added value to the institute, taking the opportunity to congratulate and celebrate this award.

"The effort of Professor Teresa brings an added value to what has already been our goals. The professor is clearly aware of our mission as a higher education institution and for this reason she and her colleagues have in fact been working hard in the development of new ideas for scientific research and technology", he said, also quoted by RNA.

He also added that "it is very gratifying to celebrate this feat of the professor, because in the context of the internationalization of the institution, which is one of the pillars by which higher education institutions are evaluated, this award in fact comes once again to identify and show the fact that that ISPTEC has been working so that eventually we have at least two universities in the international rankings".

He also took the opportunity to congratulate the researcher: "With this award she will clearly reflect in the annual evaluation of ISPTEC, but it is half work that has been done by our collaborators and the professor is completely to be congratulated and so is ISPTEC", he concluded.
