Customers owe over 100 million kwanzas to Angola Telecom

Angola Telecom's customers owe over 100 million kwanzas to the company. According to the operator's director, Lino Inocêncio Cavanda, the company has a debt of 100 million and 991 thousand kwanzas, contracted since 2014.

To recover the money, the state company set up a team responsible for negotiating with customers to pay the debt. According to the person in charge, debtors will be able to repay the debt through payment in installments.

The director of Angola Telecom, without revealing any figures, made it known that the company has already managed to recover some money, although it is a small amount.

In view of the crisis the country is going through, the payment of the debt will help the company to face some of the problems and thus improve its operation, he considered.

Not all customers who have debts with Angola Telecom have active services, he said, adding that the company's database consists of 4645 customers who enjoy the operator's various services.

As for the value of the debt, Lino Inocêncio Cavanda explained that the 2019 figures indicated that the debt was 250,729,671 kwanzas, however, after an internal analysis it was possible to conclude that the debt was 100 million and 991 thousand kwanzas.

Angola Telecom has been undergoing a restructuring process since 2010 that will end its partial privatisation by 45 percent.
