More than a hundred Angolans stranded in DRC due to covid-19 arrived in Angola this weekend

More than 100 Angolans who were stranded in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) because of covid-19 returned to Angola this weekend.

:

In total, 140 Angolans arrived in the country: 82 citizens entered the country on Saturday and the remaining 52 arrived on Sunday. The Angolans came aboard a bus chartered by the municipal administration of Luau, Moxico.

According to Angop, the citizens were tested against covid-19 before boarding and were tested again upon arrival at the Luau border post.

The Angolans, upon arriving on Angolan land, were happy: "We are satisfied with the exercise done by the Angolan and Congolese authorities, which allowed the return to the country," they said.

The returnees - who went to the DRC to visit relatives, receive medical treatment, on a business trip, among others - will now be quarantined for 14 days in a health center.
