Covid-19: Angola with 37 new positive cases and two deaths in the last 24 hours

The health authorities registered this Sunday 37 new cases of covid-19 and two deaths, totaling 2171 infections and 96 deaths.

According to the Secretary of State for Health, Franco Mufinda, four patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, adding the 818 recoveries, being active 1257 cases.

The positive cases are between four and 67 years old, being 23 men and 14 women.

From the number of active, four are in critical condition, under invasive mechanical ventilation, 13 severe, 32 moderate, 40 mild and 1168 asymptomatic.

Franco Mufinda stressed that the laboratory added the cumulative of 52,652 samples processed, being 2171 positive.

Regarding the massive testing of the National Police, which began on Thursday, were tested this Sunday 1452 agents, eight reactive with biomarker IGM.

"Looking at the follow-up of these cases we add the total of 9400 police officers who have already been tested, with the reagents pointing to 42 IGM, all of them monitored on the basis of molecular biology," said the governor.

The covid-19 pandemic has already caused at least 805,000 deaths and infected more than 23 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December, 2019, in Wuhan, a city in central China.

After Europe succeeded China as the center of the pandemic in February, the American continent is now the one with confirmed cases and more deaths.
