The game is scheduled for 10:00 pm (Angola time) at the Treichville Pavilion in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
If they win, the senior women's national team will advance to the quarterfinals, where they will play Nigeria – the current title holder – for a spot in the semifinals. However, for that to happen, Angola must win this Wednesday's match.
According to a statement from the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), that VerAngola had access to, the team remains focused and has already returned to training after Monday's game.
"The women's team remains focused," the statement reads, adding that the "athletes returned to training" on Tuesday morning, "with another training session".
Angola debuted in this year's Afrobasket with a loss. The team's first game was against Egypt last Sunday, with Angola losing 70-54.
After this defeat, Angola returned to action this Monday, facing Ivory Coast. The national team failed to overcome the host team, losing the match 82-74.
The team thus heads into the match against Cameroon with two losses.
Angola – which has two Afrobasket titles (Bamako 2011 and Maputo 2013) – has faced Cameroon on the field five times – which has never won the title – in such competitions, and Angola won, writes Angop.
Angola first played Cameroon in 2003. They then played in 2007, 2011, 2013, and 2017.
