"The State Asset and Participation Management Institute (IGAPE), as the body responsible for implementing the Privatization Program - PROPRIV, informs that, under Presidential Order No. 181/25, of July 21, the partial privatization of the company Aldeia Nova - Waco Cungo, S.A. has been authorized," reads a statement from IGAPE, which VerAngola had access to.
Through a public call, the stakes held by Gesterra, IGAPE, and the Institute for Agrarian Development will be sold.
"The transaction will be carried out through a public bidding process, in the form of a sale of equity interests, corresponding to: 21 percent of the share capital held by Gesterra, S.A.; 23 percent held by IGAPE itself; and 15 percent held by the Institute for Agrarian Development (IDA)," the institute reported.
According to the document, the Minister of Finance "was mandated to lead the process, with the power to subdelegate responsibilities, including initiating the procedure, establishing the negotiating committee, approving the tender documents, awarding the proposals, and signing the contracts."
The negotiating committee, according to IGAPE, will be composed of representatives from the Ministries of Finance and Agriculture and Forestry, "and will be governed by the Basic Privatization Law and, subsidiarily, by the Public Contracts Law."
It should be noted that the privatization process of eight hotel units of the IU and BINA chains is also underway. The deadline for submitting applications under the limited competition by prior qualification for the transfer of the right to operate and manage these units, with an option to purchase, closed this Monday.
"The competition, part of the Privatization Program (PROPRIV), aims to attract private operators with technical and financial capacity for the requalification and sustainable management of public assets located in the provinces of Bengo, Uíge, Zaire, Namibe and Lunda Sul," says IGAPE, in another statement to which VerAngola had access.
