"Angola Day at the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 in Japan, to be held on the 29th of this month, will be marked with a solemn ceremony led by the Minister of State for Social Affairs, Maria do Rosário Bragança, representing the President of the Republic, João Lourenço," the government announced in a statement that VerAngola had access to.
According to the government, the ceremony will mark "the highest point of Angola's participation in the global stock market, which runs from April 13th to October 13th, 2025."
In her speech, the minister will highlight "Angola's vision on the themes of the exhibition, as well as the country's contributions to global development and the construction of a more sustainable future."
"The speech will be preceded by the raising of the Angolan flag, the singing of the national anthem, and the speech of the Japanese Government," the statement reads.
The minister's mission in Japan will last four days.
"During her four-day stay in Japan, the Minister of State for Social Affairs will also reinforce Angola's commitment to international cooperation and seek innovative solutions to global challenges, contributing to the creation of more prosperous and inclusive societies worldwide," the statement added.
The country's participation in the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 "represents a unique opportunity for the country to promote dialogue and collaboration, boost economic development, and promote Angolan culture."
Held under the theme "Designing the Future Society for Our Lives," the event brings together "more than 150 countries and international organizations, as well as companies, NGOs, and citizen groups, with an expected attendance of 28.2 million visitors."
